Antique Japanese Military Yasukuni Shrine Worship Lacquer Sake Cup
This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with the words "Yasukuni" in the middle of the cup - referring of course to the Yasukuni shrine which houses the souls of all the war dead. These cups have religious uses for shinto ceremonies. The cup comes with original wooden box that has the words "Divine cup" embossed on the lid. Under the lid is the name of the shop, Kindo lacquerware shop. The cup also comes with a bilingual advertisement for the shop that is a really nice folded paper. Do note the 3 digit phone number for the Nihonbashi area.
