Antique Japanese Pre-1932 Changchun Garrison Commemoration Army Sake Cup
This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a pair of flags, a star, and a poem. The words around the cup's rim is a mouthful: "Southern Manchuria Changchun Garrison Infantry 38th Regiment 7th Battalion Discharge Commemoration" and the soldier's full name Shinana Nobuo. The use of the term Changchun suggests that this is before the city was renamed Shinkyo (new capital) for Manchukuo. It was most likely in the period right before Manchukuo was established as there weren't many troops in Changchun before that, especially a regular infantry regiment.
