This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a big star in the middle. The words are "Germany Conquest Commemoration" and the soldier's full name Shibata Ei is under the star. Germany conquest refers to Japan's attack on German holdings in China during WW1. Cups with a soldier's full name are uncommon.
