This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a helmet, a  wreath, and a flag, with the big words "Glory of the Nation". The smaller words are "Great East Asian War Commemoration" - this is in reference to the Pacific war, a term that wasn't used until 1940. The exterior of the cup is in the shape of a helmet with five petals as the base and the words "Patriotism" embossed on the sides.
