Rare Antique Japanese Military Battleship Katori Propulsion Division Navy Sake Cup - Yokoyama collection 2
This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, one of a collection of cups from the same person. The cup is decorated with an anchor, cherry blossoms, and two lightning bolts. The words are "Congratulations on Term Fulfillment". The words on the back are of the cup are "Gift to Mr. Yokoyama Kameichi" on the side and in the center "Members of the Mechanical Division of the Warship Katori, generator section". This is most likely the first Katori - the battleship that was decommissioned in 1923. I have a number of cups that were intended for this same Yokoyama person from the ship.
