This is a very unusual and rare antique Japanese navy sake cup, decorated with the words "Warship Fuji Quartermaster Department Cherry Blossom Viewing Party Commemoration". The warship Fuji was a pre-dreadnought battleship that was built in the 1890s and served until 1922. This is exactly as it sounds - for the ship's quartermaster department's annual cherry blossom viewing party, which, of course, meant lots of drinking. Quite an unusual and rare cup given the named ship (with a department specified) and the specific event.
