Rare Antique Japanese Cavalry Artillery Helmet Army Sake Cup
This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated on the inside with a picture of a horse, a field gun, and some cherry blossoms. The words are "Discharge Commemoration" "Cavalry Artillery Regiment" and on the left is the name Takahashi. The exterior of the cup is in the shape of a helmet with a cherry blossom base. It's actually rare to find horse artillery regiment cups - the Japanese were not very successful at developing horse artillery and never used it much. I believe the only gun they used was the Type 41, which looks a bit like what's depicted here.
Condition: Excellent - slight fading of the gold in the middle.
