Rare Antique Japanese Military 1901 Boxer Rebellion Tianjin Defense Lacquer Army Sake Cup
This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with the words "Commendation for Hard Work" and on the back "Meiji 34/35 Years (1901-02) Northern Qing Defense Tianjin Garrison Infantry Battalion Commemoration". This is for the immediate aftermath of the Boxer Rebellion when Japan stationed some troops in Tianjin, Beijing, etc, for "safeguarding" their nationals.
