Rare Antique Japanese Military 1907 Cruiser Chitose Navy Sake Cup and Bottle
This is an antique Japanese military sake cup and bottle set. The cup is decorated with an anchor, a flag, and the words "Warship Chitose America and Britain Expedition Commemoration". The bottle has a turtle and a crane with a flag, and the words "Navy Term Fulfillment Commemoration". Both items have the name Hiraka and came together, most likely belonging to the same person. The Chitose was an armoured cruiser of the IJN and was sent to the US for a trip to commemorate the Jamestown Exposition of 1907, and then continued on to a tour of Europe on a round the world trip along with another cruiser Tsukuba.
