Rare Antique Japanese Military 1938 Engineer Lieutenant Victory Lacquer Sake Cup
This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with the words "Victorious Return" on the front. The back has the words "Showa 13th Year (1938) February 25th" "Gift to Engineer Lieutenant Sawai". This would be for Lieutenant Sawai who just came back from China after having fought in the initial invasion campaign of 1937-38. It's nice to have cups named to specific people with rank - not terribly common to find that in cases of specific dates and events.
