This is a pair of antique Japanese military sake cups, each decorated with a scene - this looks to be scenes from the stories about the 47 Ronin which is about some samurai taking revenge for their lord who was killed due to an unjust case. The words on the back of the cup are "Leaving the service commemoration". It's quite possible these two cups area part of a larger set.

Condition: Excellent - some fading of the gold
