This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with what is obviously a hand painted picture of a Japanese cavalry soldier in Meiji-era dress. The words are "10th Cavalry Regiment" "8th Class (Rising Sun)" and the soldier's name Tanaka. This is one of two cups with similar design - the other one is bigger and since they're hand done, the soldier looks quite different.

Condition: Excellent - light fading of the gold
