This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a blossom with leaf. The cup is painted in red to imitate lacquer, which at the time was worth far more than ceramic cups. The words in black on the back are "Discharge Commemoration" and there's the letters "NY" embossed in the center - probably the maker's mark.

Condition: Excellent - light fading of the black paint
