Rare Russo Japanese War Admiral Togo Photo Transfer Navy Sake Cup
This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a nice photo-transfer picture of Admiral Togo. The words on the cup are "Admiral Togo". This dates the cup to after 1904 but before he became elevated to Admiral of the Fleet in 1913. Given his victories this is most likely made in the immediate aftermath of the Japanese victory in the Russo-Japanese war of 1904-05. The back of the cup has the words "Trademarked design" and the name of the Kutani kiln that made this cup.
Condition: Some fading of the paint in the middle, and a bit of crazing on the back.
Size: 2.5" across
