This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a photo-transfer picture of Prince Kan'in Kotohito, a great uncle to the future emperor Showa. He was a career army officer, eventually serving as the Chief of Staff of the army from 1931-1940. The words on top of his photo are "President HIH Prince Kan'in no miya" and on the back is a red cross with the words "Russia Conquest Commemoration". He was serving at the time as the president of the Japanese Red Cross Association as well.
