This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a nice Order of Golden Kite in the middle of the cup and topped with a pair of flags. The words on the cup are "6th Class" "Russia Conquest Commemoration" "Private 1st Class" and the name Hayakawa Hisashige. For a private to get the 6th class he must have done something pretty remarkable, as the usual award for a private is the 7th class. He may have already received it once and therefore got upgraded. Since the medal also comes with a generous 250 yen stipend for the duration of his life, this certainly was worth commemorating. 

This come came in a pair - the other cup is smaller and also for sale. It may have been a set of 3 originally but I didn't see the third. If you would like both I will reduce the total price by $5 via refunds.
