Russo Japanese War Artillery Munitions Supply Column Golden Kite Lacquer Sake Cup
This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a beautifully done golden kite carrying a horseshoe. The words on the back are "1st Division Munitions Battalion 1st Artillery Supply Column Victorious Return Commemoration". The words inside the center circle is "Russo Japanese War". The cup is quite specific to the unit it was given, and the horseshoe is presumably because the ammunition was carried by horse carriage. The cup comes with a wooden box with a sticker on the bottom of the box stating this is a lacquerware shop in Shizuoka.
