Russo Japanese War Capture of Port Arthur Celebration Party Shobukai Lacquer Sake Cup
This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated in the center with a cherry blossom. The words around it are "Meiji 37th Year Minamiuonuma Township Port Arthur Capture Celebration Party" and on the back "Shobukai". Shobukai was an organization that promoted Japan's military virtues, and was closely associated with the rise of militarism. Minamiuonuma is a city in the NE part of Honshu.
