Russo Japanese War Sakhalin Island Victorious Return Commemoration Army Sake Cup
This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a star and some cherry blossoms. The words are "Sakhalin Victorious Return Discharge" and the soldier's name Yui. The name Sakhalin is spelled a little weird here as "Sa-ka-ren" instead of the normal "Sa-ka-rin". I suspect this is a very early example from the Russo-Japanese war, with the use of the word "victory" and the non-standard spelling.
