Russo Japanese War Victory Imperial Edict Commemorative Army Sake Cup
This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a pair of flags, one for the army and one for the navy, and a silver wreath. On the left the text is the imperial edict announcing the end of the war and commending the soldiers on a job well done. The words on the back of the cup are "Meiji 37/38th Years War Commemoration". The name of the maker, Kutani Seika, is in the center. It comes with a wooden box with the word "sakazuki" written on the lid and the name Furukawa. The red color is meant to imitate lacquer.
