Super Rare Antique Japanese Military WW1 Siberia Intervention Carrier Pigeon Unit Army Sake Cup
This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a bird in the center. The words are "Great European War Siberia Dispatch Commemoration" and the soldier's name Amari. The words on the back are "Takada 67th Cavalry Unit Military Pigeon Communication Platoon". This would be for a unit that was sent to Siberia during the anti-Bolshevik campaign near the end of WW1. Pigeon cups are very, very rare - this is the first one related to the army that I could find, and the only one that is directly linked to an active campaign.
