Very Large Antique Japanese Military 1895 Sino Japanese War Guards Infantry Lacquer Sake Cups
This is a set of 3 Japanese military sake cups, decorated each with a cherry blossom branch, a star, and the words "Victorious Return Commemoration" in the middle. The words on the sides are "Gifted to 2nd Imperial Guards Field Combat Infantry Regiment" and the soldier's full name Nezu Kamehisa. The words on the back of the cups are "Meiji 27/28th Years War Commemoration" "Akinari Village Branch decision". I think this is gifted by the local Veterans Association to the soldier Nezu Kamehisa. He might've been an officer or some such, and thus getting this very large set of cups. The porcelain cup is the usual 2" cup for size comparison.
