Very Rare Antique Japanese Battleship Haruna 3rd Turret Commemoration Lacquer Sake Cup Set
This is a set of antique Japanese military sake cups. Each of the cups and the base has what is probably a family crest of the person receiving the cup. Each of the cups have the words "Congratulations to Mr. Nohara for Term Fulfillment" and "All members of the 3rd turret of the warship Haruna". The bottom of the base has the same words. These lacquer cups with base are more formal and would've cost quite a bit back in the day - so everyone basically chipped in to give Nohara his parting gift. It's quite rare to have a named ship with an illustrious history like the Haruna, and a specific unit within the ship.
Condition: Each of the cup have one small damage of paint at the rim - 2 o'clock for the biggest, 5 o'clock for the middle, 10 o'clock for the small one. The base of the cups have some damage on the underside and also chipping of the lacquer paint on one side. Please see pictures.
Size: The cups are 3.25", 3.75", and 4.25" across. The base is 6.5" across and 5.25" tall
