This is a set of three antique Japanese military sake cups, each decorated with a kiri in the center and the words on each are "Imperial Highness Tour Service Vessel Commemoration" and on the back "Showa 10th Year November" "Destroyer Inazuma". The mark in the center is "Satsuma Asahido", which was the maker's name. This set of cups would be to commemorate the emperor Showa using Inazuma to go on some kind of trip - often for military purposes, such as a naval exercise. The ship Inazuma was at the time one of the newest destroyers in the IJN, and was probably one of the best in the world at the time. It was heavily involved in fighting in WW2 and formed part of the famous "Tokyo Express" during Guadacanal. It was sunk by the USS Bonefish in 1944. This would've been a cup for at least an officer - ordinary seamen wouldn't have been able to afford pewter cups, which were expensive at the time.
