Very Rare Antique Japanese Military 1936 Destroyer Nokaze Northern Pacific Patrol Duty Pewter Navy Sake Cup Set
This is a set of antique Japanese military sake cups, each decorated with a naval insignia in the center. The back of each of the cups have the words "1st Destroyer Squadron Nokaze" "Showa 11th Year Northern Pacific Patrol Commemoration". There's a maker's mark of "Asahi-do" in the center. The cups are made of pewter, and this shop is from Satsuma - where they're famous for pewter-ware. After it was built it was continually assigned to duties such as patrol of Hokkaido/Sakhalin, which fits this patrol name. The ship continued its north Pacific specialty and participated in the Aleutian campaign, and survived the war.
Condition: Excellent - some surface scratches and dirt, but no major damage.
