Very Rare Antique Japanese Military 1st Independent Regiment Kanto Army Sake Cup
This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a rare army truck being driven by a driver, who's drawn. It's quite rare to actually see a driver depicted like this. The words are "Manchuria Dispatch" "Terakura Unit". The unit was the 1st Independent Infantry Regiment, a new unit created under the Kanto Army. This is named after their commanding officer - at the time Colonel Terakura Shozo, who would later become a lieutenant general and end WW2 as the commanding officer of the Tokyo Defense Army getting ready for an American invasion. The soldier's full name Nishiaki Matsuo.
