This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a picture of a cruiser steaming, with the ribbon "Warship Azuma" and "Long distance voyage commemoration". The sailor's name Machida is on the back. The cruiser Azuma was used as a training vessel for midshipmen, undergoing long distance voyages to train them in seamanship.
