Regular price $0

This is an antique Japanese military paper weight, made of what seems to be bronze and in the shape of a cruiser sailing through the seas. The item is made of two parts - the ship is detachable. On the base the words are "Takao Launch Commemoration" "Showa 5th Year (1930) May 12th". There's also a mark "M" underneath the base. Anything launch related is very rare - as it only ever happens once for every ship. The Takao, of course, was one of the most modern IJN cruisers to see service, and was the backbone of the Japanese cruiser fleet during WW2.

Size: 7.75" long and about 1.5" across

Condition: Excellent - light surface wear, especially on the base of the ship. There's a bit of difference in colour of the base and the ship - likely a result of them exposed to different elements (one under the sun, the other not, or something like that)
