This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with the mast of a ship decked out in signal flags, with the words "Congratulations Warship Tone Launch Ceremony" "Meiji 40th Year October 24th" (1907) on a lifesaver around the image. This is the launch of the first generation of the ship Tone, built at the Sasebo Naval Arsenal and served in the IJN until 1933. Launch cups for ships are exceedingly rare - they only happen once after all for each ship!
