Very Rare Antique Japanese Military Kure Kaiheidan Term Fulfillment Three Human Bombs Navy Sake Bottle
This is an antique Japanese military sake bottle, decorated with an embossed three human bomb image, with the three soldiers carrying a flaming bomb charging the Chinese defenses. There's also a wreath with a pair of flags. The back has a naval insignia with the words "Commemoration" and the smaller words "Kure Kaiheidan Term Fulfillment" and the sailor's name Imai. Kaiheidan was the unit in which newly enlisted sailors would first serve to train up, then get assigned to a warship or the SNLF or other duties after a few months of basic training. The imagery on the bottle may suggest this is an SNLF assignment.
