This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with an insignia of the railroad units and the words "Bandit Suppression Commemoration". The words on the back are "Showa 11th Year Furuyama Unit". The cup comes with original wooden box. On the lid of the box is a label for a shop in Kagoshima - this matches with the cup, as pewter ware traditionally was made in Satsuma, for which Kagoshima is the capital. The family crest on it is the Shimazu family's, traditionally the rulers of Satsuma province. The shop was named "Yamashita pewter shop". The box has a sliding top.

Condition: Excellent - a small nick at 1 o'clock at the rim
