Very Rare Antique Japanese Military Soldier Peaked Cap Double Blossom Base Army Sake Cup
This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a rarely-seen soldier's peaked cap, with a scroll extolling how a soldier need to be loyal, a flag, and some cherry blossoms. The words are "Manchuria Dispatch Victorious Return Commemoration" "9th Infantry" and the name Hane(x). The cup is in the shape of a helmet with a double cherry blossom as the base, with two words embossed on the front side "Glory of the Nation". For some reason while helmets are a frequent theme in decorations for cups, caps of all types are very rarely seen. Combined with a rare double-blossom base this is quite a unique cup.
Condition: Excellent - some of the words are faded, including probably the second half of the soldier's name.
