Very Rare Antique Japanese Military South China Air Corps Navy Sake Cup

Regular price $349.99

This is a set of three very rare antique Japanese military sake cups. Each of the cup is decorated with a plane. The smallest appears to be the famous A6M "Zero" with the distinctive tail. The middle cup has probably the A5M "Claude". The largest cup looks to have a bomber on it - perhaps the Mitsubishi G3M. The words on the largest cup on the front are "Conquest Combat Commemoration" and on the back "South China Air Corps." I can't find any information on this formation - most probably based in Guangzhou or Hong Kong or thereabouts, it would've covered the area somewhere between Shanghai and Vietnam. The planes present here would've suggested an early 1940s mix since the Zero only entered service in 1940.

Condition: Excellent - light surface wear

Size: 4.25", 3.5", 3" across
