Very Rare Antique Japanese Military Three Human Bombs Shanghai Incident Army Sake Bottle
This is an antique Japanese military sake bottle, decorated with an embossed picture of three soldiers carrying a bomb (the long thing), charging towards barbed wire defenses with a poem written over it. This is the story of the Three Nikudan Soldiers - the story is that during the brief Shanghai Incident siege there was an enemy line that was very difficult to penetrate, and these three guys basically took a bomb and ran towards enemy line. They killed themselves but blew a hole in Chinese defenses, so they were lionized as heroes back home. The words on the back are "Leaving the service commemoration" "5th Engineer".
