This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a map of Northeastern China around the Bohai bay. The cities on the map include Tianjin, Beijing, and Port Arthur, with the Great Wall in the north. The seas are Bohai in the middle and Liaodong bay in the top right. The words on the back are "Northern Qing Garrison Commemoration" and in the center "Tianjin Infantry Battalion 3rd Company". This is a pretty rare cup for a Tianjin garrison soldier during the Qing dynasty, where a small Japanese garrison was there to guard the treaty port, most likely in connection with the aftermath of the Boxers.
