Very Rare Japanese Military Meiji Era Individual Soldier Photo Transfer Victory Army Sake Cup
This is a very rare antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with two characters in the middle that I believe may be a name. The words on the side in blue are "Victorious Return Commemoration" and on the other side, a picture of a soldier in Meiji-era uniform. This is most likely a Russo Japanese war period cup. The soldier may have died and this was a way to commemorate him for the remaining family. There's a maker's mark in the base. These photo transfer cups are much rarer than the ones with generals on them as they are individualized.
